ScenesFlow Terms of Use

Welcome to ScenesFlow (hereinafter referred to as the "Software").

This Terms of Use (hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement") is a legally binding agreement between you and the Weeko Team (hereinafter referred to as "we," "us," or "our") regarding your download, installation, and use of the Software.

Before using the Software, please read and understand this Agreement and the ScenesFlow Privacy Policy carefully.

By installing, launching, or continuing to use the Software, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all the terms of this Agreement.

I. Software License

1. Scope of License

Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, we grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and limited license to install and use the Software on macOS devices you legally own or control.

This license only grants you the right to use the Software and does not constitute a transfer of ownership, source code, or related intellectual property rights.

2. License Restrictions

Unless expressly authorized by us in writing, you may not:

  1. Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Software;
  2. Bypass, circumvent, modify, or defeat any license verification mechanisms of the Software;
  3. Copy, rent, lease, sell, sublicense, or redistribute the Software;
  4. Modify, remove, or obscure any copyright notices, trademarks, or other proprietary rights notices within the Software;
  5. Use the Software for any activities that violate applicable laws and regulations or infringe upon the rights of third parties.

II. Free Trial and License Purchase

1. Free Trial

ScenesFlow offers a 60-day fully functional free trial for new users.

During the trial period:

  • Users do not need to pay any fees;
  • No payment information is required in advance;
  • Users can experience all the complete features provided by the Software.

After the trial period expires, users must purchase a valid license to continue using the full features.

2. License Types

ScenesFlow offers the following licensing options:

(1) Annual Subscription

Users can purchase an annual subscription through the Apple App Store.

During the active subscription period, users can continuously access all full features of the Software.

The annual subscription will automatically renew according to Apple App Store rules unless the user proactively turns off auto-renewal.

(2) Lifetime License

Users may choose to make a one-time purchase for a lifetime license.

A lifetime license allows users to use the features provided in the current version of the Software indefinitely.

A lifetime license does not guarantee that all future version updates, new features, or additional services will be provided for free forever. Upgrade policies may be adjusted based on product version changes.

III. Apple App Store Payment and Subscription Rules

If you purchase a subscription via the Apple App Store:

  1. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase.

  2. The subscription will automatically renew at the end of the current billing cycle unless you turn off auto-renewal before the renewal date.

  3. The account will typically be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, in accordance with Apple's account rules.

  4. You can manage or cancel your subscriptions by going to:

macOS: App Store → Account Settings → Subscriptions

  1. All purchases are subject to the relevant terms of service of the Apple App Store.

IV. Feature Usage and User Responsibilities

ScenesFlow is a locally-run macOS productivity tool.

Certain features involve screen content, Clipboard data, and system permissions. Users should use these features reasonably and properly manage their own data.

1. Clipboard Features

ScenesFlow provides Clipboard history management.

Because Clipboard content is generated by the user's active copying actions:

  • The Software will not automatically determine whether the content is sensitive;
  • We do not guarantee the identification of sensitive information such as passwords, verification codes, or bank card details;
  • The Software will not automatically filter or delete specific types of data.

If you handle sensitive information, we recommend that you:

  • Clear relevant records promptly after use;
  • Pause Clipboard monitoring when necessary;
  • Avoid saving sensitive content in untrusted environments.

Any risk of information leakage caused by the user's own actions shall be borne by the user.

2. Screenshot and Color Picker Features

Screenshot and Color Picker features require the "Screen Recording" permission provided by macOS.

These features:

  • Only run when actively triggered by the user;
  • Do not continuously record the screen in the background;
  • Do not automatically capture the user's screen content.

When using the Software to capture, edit, or share content, users must ensure that they:

  • Have obtained the necessary authorizations;
  • Do not infringe upon the privacy, copyright, or other lawful rights of others.

Any liabilities arising from the user's use of captured content shall be borne solely by the user.

3. Away Lock Feature

ScenesFlow provides an "Away Lock" feature designed to offer an additional app-level screen lock when the user briefly steps away from the device.

This feature is an: app-level locking mechanism and is not equivalent to the macOS system Lock Screen.

The Away Lock:

  • Provides locking by obscuring the screen via the Software interface;
  • Does not replace the macOS user account lock;
  • Is not a system-level security mechanism.

Because this feature runs in the user space, its performance may be affected by factors such as:

  • macOS system state;
  • Conflicts with third-party software;
  • System resource availability;
  • Multiple display environments;
  • Unexpected quitting of the Software.

When you need to leave your device for an extended period, or if the device contains important privacy or business information, we highly recommend using the macOS system Lock Screen: ⌃ + ⌘ + Q or putting your Mac to sleep.

Please do not use the Software's Away Lock feature as your sole security locking measure.

4. Image Editing and Privacy Masking Features

ScenesFlow offers basic image editing tools, including:

  • Pixelate;
  • Draw;
  • Annotate;
  • Mask.

These features are intended to assist users in quickly processing screenshot content.

Due to the continuous advancement of image recovery technologies, we cannot guarantee that all masking methods will be completely unrecoverable under any circumstances. For sensitive content, including:

  • Identity information;
  • Financial data;
  • Passwords;
  • Trade secrets;

Users must independently verify whether the processing method meets their security requirements.

V. Data Storage and Backup Responsibilities

ScenesFlow utilizes local storage.

Data generated by the Software, including:

  • Configuration files;
  • Clipboard history;
  • Screenshot records;
  • User settings;

are strictly stored locally on the user's device.

Because the Software does not provide cloud backup services:

In the event of data loss caused by:

  • Hardware failure;
  • System reinstallation;
  • Disk errors;
  • User's manual deletion;

the development team cannot guarantee data recovery.

We recommend that users regularly use Time Machine or other backup tools to secure important data.

VI. Intellectual Property

The Software and its related intellectual property rights, including but not limited to:

  • Source code;
  • User interfaces;
  • Icons;
  • Brand names;
  • Documentation;

are owned by the Weeko Team.

The ownership of any data generated by the user during the use of the Software belongs to the user.

VII. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Software is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Software will always be completely error-free;
  • It will remain permanently compatible with all system environments;
  • All features will be uninterrupted.

Software abnormalities caused by the following reasons:

  • macOS system updates;
  • Third-party software conflicts;
  • Changes in hardware environments;
  • System limitations;

may affect the operation of the Software.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Weeko Team shall not be liable for any indirect losses, data loss, or business interruption arising out of the use or inability to use the Software.

VIII. Agreement Updates and Termination

We may update this Agreement based on product changes or legal requirements.

The updated Agreement will be published on our official website or within the Software.

If you do not agree to the updated Agreement, please stop using and uninstall the Software.

If you violate any provisions of this Agreement, we reserve the right to terminate your license to use the Software.
