Weeko Color Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Weeko Color (the "Software") is a local-first macOS color utility developed by Weeko Team. This Policy explains how screen colors, palettes, settings, diagnostics, and information you submit are handled.
1. Local color processing
The active color, recent picks, favorites, color matrix results, converted values, contrast selections and results, vision-simulation state, preview text, shortcuts, and preferences are processed and stored on your Mac. Weeko Color has no Weeko account and does not automatically upload your screen, color history, favorites, or local settings to Weeko Team. The current version provides no cloud sync or automatic cloud backup.
2. Screen Recording permission
macOS protects access to screen pixels with Screen Recording permission. Weeko Color uses this access only when you deliberately start and operate the screen color picker. It samples the pixel under your pointer to calculate color values. It does not continuously record video, retain full-screen recordings, or use screen content for analytics, advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.
You can deny or revoke permission in System Settings. Screen picking will then be unavailable, while features that accept an entered or system-selected color may continue to work. macOS may require the Software to restart after permission changes.
3. Color library and exports
Recent and favorite colors are stored in the local app container. You may copy values to the system clipboard, remove individual colors, or clear collections. Format conversion and matrix generation run locally. If export or sharing features are offered, the resulting file or clipboard value goes only to the destination you choose; after export, you are responsible for its storage and disclosure.
Contrast ratios, AA/AAA indicators, preview examples, palette suggestions, and color-vision simulations are computed aids. They are not uploaded merely because you use them. They may not cover every accessibility requirement, display profile, visual condition, regulatory standard, or real interface context.
4. Feedback, Apple, and network data
Opening the feedback page may place Mac model, macOS version, app version/build, and interface language in the URL. It does not automatically include picked colors, favorites, contrast pairs, preview text, or preferences. Hosting and network providers process ordinary connection information such as IP address, browser, and access time.
If you contact us, we process only the contact information, description, screenshots, attachments, color values, or diagnostics you choose to send, for support, security, investigation, and improvement. Remove confidential design assets before submission.
Apple handles App Store distribution, purchases, refunds, and entitlements. If you enable sharing diagnostics with developers, Apple may provide crash or aggregated diagnostic reports. We do not receive your Apple ID password or complete payment credentials.
5. Retention, choices, and security
Local data remains until you delete colors, clear history or settings, or remove the Software and its container according to macOS behavior. Information voluntarily sent to us is retained only as needed for support, security, improvement, and legal obligations. You may request deletion at support@weeko.net, subject to required retention.
You can revoke screen access, clear recent and favorite colors, change preferences, or uninstall. No software guarantees absolute security; protect your Mac, clipboard, exported palettes, and proprietary color systems.
6. Children, updates, and contact
Weeko Color is a general utility and is not directed to children. We may update this Policy for feature, legal, security, or App Store changes and will revise the date above; material changes receive additional notice where required.
